Remember those days when you enjoyed different flavored milks like chocolate and strawberry? Now you can enjoy vegan versions of your old time favorites by making simple syrups at home. This coffee flavored simple syrup recipe is easy to follow and can be the basis for all of your simple syrup needs.
- 1 cup of strong coffee
- 1/2 cup raw sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- In a 16oz mason jar, add a cup of strong coffee that is already made. Make sure the coffee has cooled before adding to the jar. Also, add the vanilla extract as well.
- In a pot on medium heat, add your sugars and water. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. When it comes to a boil, turn down the heat and let simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from stove and let cool completely. Once cooled, add to the jar of coffee, stir well, place in the fridge and use as needed.
To make coffee milk, just add 2 tablespoons of syrup to a 16oz glass of non-dairy milk. This simple syrup should last up to a month in the fridge.
