This is a different take on the classic apple crumble. Instead of using regular flour, I decided to make my own flour from organic raw almonds. Once you try this recipe, you will never go back to the old way of making this American classic.
- 5 apples, diced
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup of uncooked oats
- 1 cup raw organic slivered almonds
- 1/2 brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raw sugar
- Preheat over at 400 degrees. Take the almonds, place in a food processor and process until it turn into a flour without any chunks.
- Place apples in a small glass casserole dish, sprinkle with cinnamon, add vanilla extract and mix it up. Then sprinkle the raw sugar on top, place it in the oven until it starts to caramelize.
- While the apples are in the oven, add almond flour to a bowl with the brown sugar and oats. Add a little coconut milk at a time until you get a crumble consistency. When apples have started to caramelize, add the crumble on top and continue to bake until it turns a golden brown. Let cool for 15 minutes, serve and enjoy.
